New personal floatation device requirements for children
As of January 2026, Maine law requires that all children 12 years of age or younger wear a United States Coast Guard-approved personal floatation device (PFD) whenever they are on recreational watercraft. This updated Maine law is now aligned with Federal Law.

SeaDoo Switch Capsizing Risk
FYI - Coast Guard recall alert on SeaDoo Switch (a pontoon boat from SeaDoo) for potential capsizing issue.
